There's nothing like showing off a piece of furniture in your home and being able to say, "I made that!"

But whenever you look at those gorgeous, professional-looking woodworking projects online, you think —

HOW COULD I EVEN BEGIN TO DO THAT?

😵‍💫 Maybe you feel overwhelmed by all the precise details and tiny little steps to remember.

😕 Maybe you’ve watched a ton of woodworking tutorials, but as soon as you turn off the computer and pick up your power drill, you forget everything you just learned.

😊 Maybe you’re unsure which tools you need, or intimidated by the tools you already have, or you don’t know where to start

🤷🏻‍♀️ Or maybe you just don’t want to cut off any fingers. Fair enough.

The good news is, as long as you have the desire and determination to build your own furniture or tackle home improvement projects, you already have the most important tool there is.

The rest is just details!

"Anika's course takes the overwhelm and nerves out of beginning to be a woodworker.  The resources she provides are perfect for someone who is just getting started as she details and explains every part of the process as she walks you through it.  She leaves you with a sense of confidence and some great-looking projects."

There's so much inspiration and creativity in the DIY space. But most of what you see leaves you feeling more intimidated than confident...

I am here to tell you there's a reason for that.

How your brain processes information from a screen - like watching a YouTube tutorial - is totally different from the processes required to make something with your hands.

In other words...

If you want to get better at building stuff, you have to BUILD STUFF.

INTRODUCING...

THE FEARLESS WOODWORKER

A progressive hand-on DIY program to help you build the skills and practice you need to confidently take on any woodworking project you want

After nearly a decade of teaching beginner woodworkers and DIYers how to properly set up and use their power tools, build simple, beautiful furniture, and master the most important foundational woodworking skills, I’ve found one thing to be true —

The only way to improve your woodworking skills is to actively, consistently practice them. That’s how I learned, and if you ask any accomplished DIYer, they’ll tell you the same thing.

When I built my first-ever piece of furniture—a cute little kids’ table for my daughter’s room—I made so many mistakes.

It was frustrating, but figuring out WHY those mistakes happened and what I needed to do to prevent them in the future is precisely what I needed to do to keep improving.

I designed The Fearless Woodworker with this in mind.

We start with a small project you can make with limited materials and only a few tools and build from there.

Each subsequent project adds more tools, or new essential skills that will translate to future projects.

By the end of the program, you’ll have the confidence and skillset you need to tackle any woodworking project like a pro.

The Fearless Woodworker is for you if:

  • You’re interested in learning and internalizing basic woodworking skills so they become second nature, so you can build anything you want
  • You’d like to get better at troubleshooting and improvising so a single wrong turn won’t derail the entire project
  • You have some experience with DIY builds but still don't feel as confident as you’d like to.
  • You’ve been “DIY curious” for a long time, but are intimidated, overwhelmed, or don’t where to start
  • You have a few power tools sitting around collecting dust because you’re not exactly sure how they work, and/or you’re afraid of injuring yourself

*The Fearless Woodworker does not include

fine woodworking skills or hand tools.

The Fearless Woodworker: What's Included

5 brand-new projects that will help you “learn by doing”

Each module focuses on a single, simple project that will build on the skills you used in the previous one. You’ll build a folding sawhorse, modern bench, bookcase, nightstand, and simple picture frame.

Videos that follow along as I build each project from scratch

You’ll get to see every detail and understand my thought process as I make all the tiny little decisions and adjustments that come up during a build.

Lifetime access to the course and all future updates

We know it’s not easy to carve out time (get it?) for woodworking in the midst of family, work, and daily commitments. You’ll be able to work through the projects at your own pace, for as long as it exists. :)

On-Demand Resource Library

A specially curated library of deep-dive guides and tutorials to support you in becoming even more confident with your power tools and master the basic woodworking skills that every DIYer needs to know.

BONUS #1: 24/7 Facebook Group

Because building in community is SO much more fun than building alone in your workshop. This is where you can make some friends, ask questions, show off your progress, get support and cheer each other on! I’ll be there keeping an eye on you, too.

BONUS #2: Live Monthly Group Q & A calls with me, Anika!

Real-time live support is pretty uncommon in most woodworking courses—but they’re my favorite! This is your chance to troubleshoot, pick my brain, and show me your actual builds so I can help you get unstuck!

"I am so excited to be a part of this (Beta group)! I just watched the first modules and really enjoyed them. I have always loved your tutorials, and I can already see how you are making it so easy for me to learn. I can't wait to go through the rest of the course".

I am so glad I signed up for this course. I have always found Anika’s tutorials and videos to be extremely easy to understand. There is something about the way she breaks it down that it just makes sense. I have built the sawhorses already, and I am exited to dive into the next projects.

Let's talk tools...

I’ve been teaching woodworking for 7 years, and the two tools I get asked about the most are…

But many of the “basic” or beginner woodworking programs don’t include these power tools, which makes them seem more intimidating than they actually are.

We won’t use them in our first few projects, but by the time you complete The Fearless Woodworker, you’ll be able to navigate the settings and techniques for each confidently.

We’ll also use these guys…

Don’t have all these tools (yet)? That’s okay!

All you need to get started are a power drill and a saw.

"Finally someone who is able to make woodworking understandable and who explains ‘basic’ concepts! I finished my first year of woodworking and….stopped. I felt frustrated and untalented and was having difficulties with almost everything. So I lost the fun, got discouraged. Now, I feel enthusiastic again. Thank you so much for giving me self-confidence in woodworking again."

- Patricia D.

Very thorough and teaches you everything you need to know about the topic at hand while being concise at the same time; a great combination! It’s apparent that you are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what you're teaching and that really comes through in your videos. 😀 Thank you for sharing!!

FAQs

How is this different from all the other woodworking courses I’ve seen?

The biggest difference is the live support. Not only will you have access to a private Facebook group — but I’m also going live once a month (for three months) to take your questions and address any issues that come up in your builds.

The other big difference is that The Fearless Woodworker is organized by BUILD. Most courses are divided by subject matter (power tools, woodworking techniques, safety, etc.). While this can be a comprehensive way to organize information, it’s not the best way to internalize and implement your woodworking skills.

If you want to get better at building stuff, YOU HAVE TO BUILD STUFF! So that’s what we’re going to do.

How long will each project take me to build?

From start to finish, with no breaks, the projects in The Fearless Woodworker should take a minimum of 3 hours for the smaller builds and 5 hours for the more advanced projects.

But that doesn’t account for making the kids lunch or having to stop mid-build and pick it back up next weekend.

So my answer is - it varies! 🤷🏻‍♀️

What tools do I need for this?

You can get started with just a power drill and a saw for the first few projects. Eventually, we’ll be using a power drill, a circular saw, a nail gun, a miter saw, a random orbital sander, a jigsaw, a table saw, and a router.

I’m just starting out and don’t have all these tools.  🙁

That’s okay! You’ll be fine with just a power drill + saw for the first few builds.

How much will I need to spend on materials?

I have designed the projects to use big box store lumber as efficiently as possible. The first few projects use under $30 in lumber. The other projects are under $75. Ultimately, the total cost depends on the pricing in your area and what type of wood you choose. Hardware, stain, paint and other finishes are extra.

What if life gets in the way and I can’t keep up with each new build?

You can work through each build at your own pace. What’s different about The Fearless Woodworker is that I’ve filmed myself building each of these projects in real-time, so even if you don’t complete each build the week it’s released, you’ll still be working along with me rather than trying to digest a whole tutorial before you try it yourself.

You’ll also have lifetime access to the program if that helps. 🙂

Will I learn how to use these fancy hand tools I have?

No. The Fearless Woodworker covers basic, foundational skills, not fine woodworking. The most advanced we’ll get is using pocket holes to make joints and some half-lap cuts on the table saw (or circular saw).

What if I realize this is not for me after I buy it?

I am confident you will find the course overflowing with value. This is why I offer a 14-day refund guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the course for any reason, let me know, and I will make sure it is addressed.

I’ve been featured in MSN, NBC LA, Family Handyman, Popular Woodworking, FDMC Magazine, Women’s World, Mollie Makes, Domino, The Spruce, The Kitchn, Apartment Therapy, Buzzfeed, and more. I also won the Amara Blog Award 2019 for the Best Creative Blog (International).

I like big, blingy earrings, old architecture, Marvel movies, and 90s Bollywood music. I currently live in Southern California with my husband, son, and daughter, and even though I’m a classically trained dancer and an accomplished builder, I trip over my own feet way more often than you’d think.
